Who we are
Interlace Data Ltd (Company No. 16995515) is both the data controller and data processor for seatwatch.scot. Contact us at legal@interlacedata.co.uk for any privacy-related question.
What we collect
Only if you click Accept on our cookie banner: aggregate analytics about your visit, collected via Google Analytics 4. Specifically:
- Pages you view and the order you view them in
- How long you stay on each page
- Which page (if any) referred you here
- Your country and rough region (derived from your IP address; the IP itself is not stored)
- Browser and device type (Chrome on macOS, Safari on iPhone, etc.)
If you click Decline, no cookies are set and no persistent identifier is stored. Anonymous, cookieless pings still reach Google to give us aggregate visitor counts — these contain no information that can identify you across visits.
Why we collect it
To understand roughly how many people visit the site, which pages they read, and how they got here. We use this to decide whether the site is reaching anyone and which arguments are landing.
Lawful basis
Your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). We only set tracking cookies after you click Accept. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser's cookies and local storage for seatwatch.scot — the banner will reappear on your next visit.
How long we keep it
Aggregated analytics in Google Analytics 4 are retained for 2 months by default for
event-level data. The cookies set in your browser to identify your session
(_ga, _ga_*) last up to 2 years; you can delete them at any
time via your browser's cookie settings.
Who we share it with
The analytics platform we use is Google Analytics 4, operated by Google Ireland Ltd. Your data may be processed on Google's servers in the EU and the US under Google's standard contractual clauses. We do not share your data with anyone else.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Have it corrected or deleted
- Object to or restrict processing
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office
Email legal@interlacedata.co.uk to exercise any of these rights.
